On December 18, Zhou Rongjun, an employee in the Jixin High-Temperature Firing Workshop, unexpectedly found a wallet on his way to work. The wallet contained not only a thick stack of cash—over 5,000 yuan—but also two ID cards and an important subsidy-claiming certificate. Faced with this “unexpected windfall,” Zhou Rongjun didn’t hesitate for a moment. He immediately reported the situation to the workshop director and proactively accompanied the director to deliver the wallet to the nearby police station, requesting the police’s assistance in locating the owner.
Thanks to the active efforts of the police officers, the owner, Aunt Shan, was located that very day. Aunt Shan is a resident of a nearby village. Her husband has been bedridden and on medication for years, and the cash in her wallet was farming subsidy money she had just withdrawn from the bank—critical financial support for the couple’s daily life. When the elderly couple finally got their wallet back, they burst into tears and expressed their heartfelt gratitude again and again, visibly overwhelmed with emotion.
On December 22, out of heartfelt gratitude, the owner entrusted a family member to come to the company and personally present Zhou Rongjun with a banner inscribed with the words, “Honesty in Returning Lost Property—A Noble and Upright Character.” The family member was deeply moved and said, “We’re truly so grateful to Master Zhou. It was your kind deed that gave our elderly family member back hope.” As Zhou Rongjun took the banner, he looked somewhat shy. He replied, “This was just a small thing—anyone in my position would have done the same. I feel it’s only right to do so.” His simple words revealed the admirable qualities of an ordinary employee.
Zhou Rongjun’s seemingly ordinary act promptly helped someone in dire need, and in the face of personal gain, he remained true to his principles; confronted with temptation, he kept a clear head. This demonstrates the fine spiritual outlook and high moral standards of our company’s employees.
