To enrich employees’ extracurricular cultural life, strengthen team cohesion and unity, promote a positive and upward-looking corporate culture, and foster a collaborative and motivated work environment, the company successfully held a Healthy Relay Race on April 23 along the perimeter road of the Southern Plant, under the theme “Spurring On with Determination to Embark on a New Journey—Pragmatic Action and Steadfast Commitment Toward the Future.” Nearly 80 mid-level managers and employees from various departments formed 12 competing teams, who, amid passion and sweat, delivered an exhilarating contest of speed and teamwork. The company’s General Manager Tian Yile, together with Deputy General Managers Zhang Zhixiang and Chen Song, attended the event in person.

Opening Mobilization, Igniting Enthusiasm

At 1:30 p.m., the sun was shining brightly and a gentle breeze was blowing. The participants, dressed in uniform sportswear, gathered with high spirits at the office building along the perimeter road of the South Factory Area. To kick off the event, General Manager Tian Yile delivered a welcoming address. He emphasized: “A healthy body is the foundation of hard work, and good health is the cornerstone of happiness. I hope that through running, you will strengthen your physique, relieve stress, and build unity, truly putting into practice the philosophy of working healthily and living joyfully. No matter what the final results may be, simply stepping onto the track is a victory, and giving it your all is what truly showcases your spirit.” Following this, under the leadership of the company’s executive team, everyone took part in a warm-up walk around the perimeter road, quickly energizing the atmosphere on site.

Relay sprinting showcases collaboration.

This relay race will be held as a 5×300-meter team relay, with five members per team.

At least one female athlete must be on the team. With a crisp starting whistle, the lead runner shot off the starting line like an arrow released from a bow. On the track, the runners chased one another in vigorous strides; within the relay zone, teammates coordinated seamlessly, high-fiving to pass the baton—a gesture that conveyed trust and responsibility. Along the sidelines, the cheers of the cheerleading squad rose and fell in waves, with shouts of “Come on! Sprint!” repeatedly driving the race to new climaxes.

The company’s mid-level management team was divided into two squads—the Mid-Level Production Squad and the Mid-Level Management Squad—each consisting of six members. The event featured fun activities such as dribbling a ball while moving forward and a two-person three-legged sprint, which drew continuous laughter and applause, vividly showcasing the management team’s positive, energetic, and collaborative spirit.

After two rounds of intense yet friendly competition—preliminaries and the final—the “Chromium Speed Charge Team” from Chromium Chemical Company emerged as the champion thanks to their consistent performance and flawless baton exchanges. The “Chromium Metal Team” from Chromium Metal Company and the “Government Agencies Combined Team,” composed of members from the General Administration Department, Production Department, Finance Department, and Trading Company, took second and third place, respectively. Meanwhile, the “High-Temperature Fusion Brilliance Team” from Jixin High-Temperature Technology was awarded the Excellence Prize. In the China National Petroleum Corporation Fun Relay Race, the CNPC Production Combined Team and the CNPC Management Combined Team claimed first and second place, respectively. Company leaders presented exquisite gifts to the winning teams on-site and distributed commemorative souvenirs to all participants who completed the race as a token of encouragement.
